Foil Me's frequently asked questions

We want our Foil Me movers to be able to order in a way that suits their lifestyle best. The most direct form of ordering is via our website and our app Foil Me Foils (available via the Apple Store or Google Play), where you're welcome to view all of our collections.

If you would prefer to speak with a Foil Me team member, please call our office number: 0423 403 899. We also receive and take orders via our email, hello@foilme.com.au, and via DM on Facebook and Instagram.

Foil Me provides multiple options for how you would like to cover your order. If you have ordered via our website, you have the option of credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer. These options also apply if you would like to order directly through a Foil Me team member where we can either send you an ‘order request’ from our website, or process your card details manually.

Please note, if you are not in Australia, we are unable to accept bank transfer as an option, however, we you may process your order via credit card and PayPal – thank you for your understanding.

Please note the following ordering terms: all orders are final and are unable to be returned for refunds or exchange

For your convenience we have included shipping logistics for both pre and current COVID-19 situation.

Pre COVID-19 Logistics:

All Foil Me orders dispatched from our warehouse in Adelaide and sent nationally and internationally. Orders that are received before midday (local Adelaide time) are dispatched the same day.

Orders received after midday (ACST) are dispatched the next day.
We use Toll IPEC and Australia Post for our orders. Please allow 1-3 business days for Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and 3-5 business days for other capital cities. For our Foil Me lovers living in country areas, please allow 4-5 business days.

Express Post is available for small orders, you will receive this option in the checkout process.

Current Logistics (due to COVID-19)

Please note, the following details are for your guidance on shipping times whilst distancing restrictions are still in place in both our warehouse and couriers, along with increased demand. These measures are taken to ensure everyone’s safety and we thank you for your understanding and patience.

All Foil Me orders dispatched from our warehouse in Adelaide and sent nationally and internationally. Orders that are received before midday (local Adelaide time) may not be dispatched on the same day due to the distancing restrictions still in place for our warehouse (and work places) in South Australia.

Orders received after midday (ACST) may not be dispatched the next day, but our warehouse are trying their best with the limited staff they currently have. If your order is urgent, please visit the list of our stockists here and order from your nearest Foil Me provider.

We use Toll IPEC and Australia Post for our orders. Please note they are experiencing delivery delays due to social distancing measures, as well as disinfection procedures at each depot upon the way to you. Please allow 2-4 business days for Adelaide and all other capital cities across Australia please expect delivery times of 10+ business days, with 10-12 + business days for regional areas across Australia.

Express Post is available for small orders, you will receive this option in the checkout process. Express deliveries are also currently experiencing delays of 2-4 days.

PRICING FOR FOILS:
• SA is $9.85, regional is $11.90.
• VIC, NSW, ACT and TAS are capped at $12.90 for up to a carton.
• NT, WA and QLD is capped at $17.90 for a carton, but $13.90 up to two packets.
• $8.00 per additional cartons (for each state).
• New Zealand is capped at $18.90 for up to a carton, but sample packs are $15.90. It is $31.90 for 2 cartons and $11.90 for additional ones.

PRICING FOR BRUSHES:
• Shipping Australia wide for brush/brushes is capped at $7.90.
• Shipping for New Zealand for brush/brushes is capped at $10.90.
• When ordered with any Foil Me foils, brushes are included with no extra shipping fee.

October 21 2020 Freight Rate Rise

Due to the significant rise in freight charges from our warehouse logistics company, we have had to recently increase the shipping rates.

Please see below excerpts of documents from our warehouse regarding carriers Australia Post and Toll:

In accordance with the terms of our mutual agreement and as per the attached advice letters, we wish to advise that Toll Transport rates, all modes will be increased by 7.43%.

In port security surcharge will be added to all Toll priority services (airport securing only). This was previously charged at 1.95% and will increase to 7.25%. All other Carrier rates will be increased by 4.95% with all rates effective as at 9th November 2020

    Unlike other embossed foils that may tear easily or be too difficult/stiff to move, our foils are specifically designed for hairdressers where we have ensured you can fold and move your foils with ease, whilst having the confidence that they won’t tear. Our signature embossing ensures more grip, minimal product is needed, bleeding is reduced and processing time is faster.     Each Foil Me mover is sent a tracking number via email, except our local movers in SA because our warehouse has an exclusive courier service where we can contact them directly if we need to follow up.

    Our foils are designed to be fine to ensure a more enjoyable and efficient application process that guarantees stunning results. Most of our range is based on our Original style. However, for those of you who prefer a thicker foil, we do provide our Heavy styles which are 18 microns. Many of our Foil Me movers who were using a heavier foil before approaching us were worried that a finer foil would tear, however, after trying our foils, they, and an overwhelming amount of colourists leave reviews remarking that they "can’t go back" – please visit a product page and scroll down to view the reviews.

    Our foils are unique and specifically designed for the hair industry; they are designed on what you, the savvy colourist, want and need in order to achieve the best results for your clients. We also design our foils with your happiness in mind; many of our designer collection are based on collaborations and colours to ensure the experience you have with your products and your client are emotionally connected. We are constantly evolving to suit the changing trends and colourist’s needs, which means you will always receive the premium and unique products that provide your salon with a point of difference.

    Like ALL aluminium foilFoil Me's foils are made from a percentage of recycled aluminium; this percentage fluctuates with every order due to the amount of raw and recycled materials available. ALL aluminium foil is produced this way and it is impossible to have a hair foil that is made completely from recycled hair foil and aluminium scrap foil. Mixed foil from post and pre-consumer scrap metals can only be used for aluminium alloy die-castings, aluminium alloy bars for construction, engine cases, etc and the quality of the foil is dependent on the aluminium alloy chemical composition of Fe, Mg or Zn elements. It is impossible for aluminium foil to be made from 100% recycled aluminium as the foil’s physical property will be changed to the point where it will crumble and not be a viable option for use as a hair foil.

    YES. It can be recycled over and over again without loss of properties. The packaging is also 100% recyclable.

    To recycle, please wash the foil thoroughly and roll several sheets into a ball that is of a tennis ball size. Any foil you recycle will be made into aluminium products, but not necessarily hair foil. Each of our boxes has a recycling logo, along with simple instructions on how to recycle our foils. Of course, please contact us if you have any enquiries regarding recycling our foils.

    Foil Me cares about the environment and the impact the hairdressing industry can have on its health. Therefore it is important to us that our products are made from items that are 100% recyclable. Our brush handles are made from a polypropylene, abbreviated as PP, which is a recyclable thermoplastic polymer widely used in many different products. PP’s resin identification code is 5, and it is recyclable.

    Our bristles are vegan (not boar hair) and they are made from a polybutylene plastic (PB or PBT) and they are also 100% recyclable.

    To recycle, please dispose of your brush in the recycling bin provided by your council.
