Thank you to all salons and businesses that joined the Foil Me family in raising awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) throughout Pink October in 2019!
The Foil Me team was proud to partner with the NBCF for the third year to help raise awareness and funds for a cause that affects so many in the hair industry as well as the rest of the world. With your help, we are hoping to double the amount we raised last year, aiming for $25,000.

Why we created 'Pink October - Wise Up in Pink' Campaign

We believe that in every success in life, there is always a way to give back to those in need. We have friends in the industry battling or having battled the disease and we have also had very close family members pass away from cancer. We know how devastating it is to lose a loved one to this horrendous disease so raising funds and awareness for cancer research remains a cause very close to our hearts.
This year we required your assistance to work towards achieving NBCF’s goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
What we did at Foil Me HQ:
We specifically created pink foils with ribbons on them for Pink October to ensure even more awareness is created when content from salons and businesses is posted on their social media. These are called The BCR collection and they are available in two sizes – 12.5cm by 27cm and 15cm by 27cm. We donated $1.00 from the sale of each packet of The BCR and did the same when our exclusive pastel pink The Knobel collection is ordered.
We organised a 'Wise Up in Pink' campaign which involves a specific Pink Day where salons and businesses registered can dress, dye their hair and decorate their businesses in the colour of pink – this year it was held on Friday 18th of October. You could sign up to our event here!
We collaborated with Chloe (owner of Scrunchie Scrunch) and her team (https://scrunchiescrunch.com.au/ and @scrunchiescrunch) to spread awareness further; Chloe kindly donating pink scrunchies for registered participants.
We created and curated frequent social media and website material to encourage participation and raise funds.
We participated in Pink Day by decorating our office, dyeing our hair pink, creating and wearing pink t-shirts with Foil Me and NBCF on them and photographing our day for social media and PR.
We offered a prize of two cartons (24 packets) of our The Knobel collection as well as the winner will be the very FIRST TO RECIEVE A TOP SECRET PRODUCT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR TWO YEARS for the best salon/business spirit that we see on Instagram or Facebook for Pink Day. There was also runner up prizes.
