Hey Gio, we are so excited for you to join our family of ambassadors!
Could you please introduce yourself to our community and share with us some of your background?
My name is Gioacchino Raniolo and I am 33 years old. My parents come from Italy (Sicily) but I was born and raised in Germany (Solingen). I started my training as a hairdresser in 2005 and successfully completed it in 2008. After my apprenticeship I immediately started my Master of Hairdresser in Cologne and completed it in 2009.
That same year I moved to Frankfurt to face new challenges. There I started at Douglas Hairdesign. After 3 years I got the chance to take over the salon management in Stuttgart, so I moved to Stuttgart.
During the whole time my passion for balayage is developing more and more, so in 2017 I decided to work as a trainer at ADDICTED TO BALAYAGE and inspire other hairdressers with my passion.
After 11 years at Douglas Hairdesign, I decided to leave the company in 2020 and give myself over to my passion for balayage. I started at FABIAN MAIER BALAYAGE on April 1st, 2020. Here I have found my place where I can live out my passion every day and inspire my customers with my balayage.
What made you want to be a hairdresser?
As a child I always did my little sister's hair and as a teenager I was fascinated by how you can change a type of person with a hairstyle.
As a hair artist, what is your favourite technique and why?
I love colour service, especially balayage! The balayage gives me the opportunity to let my creativity run free. So I can design a colour that suits my customers and make them shine.
What inspires you?
Many things inspire me! My everyday life, my hairdressing colleagues and people on the street. From all of this, I get new ideas and new looks are created.
What’s one of your greatest achievements in your career?
That I work as a trainer at Addicted To Balayage. I enjoy education so much.
What’s something you’d still like to achieve in your life or career?
I would like to be one of the best balayage colourists in Germany / Europe and share my knowledge with my hairdresser colleagues!
